Basic science education
The importance of basic science education is a hard one to grasp in a specific sentence or phrase, but as a concept is vital to the further development of any child. Basic science education provides the child with the proper mindset to be able to make logical deductions and to accept arguments based on proof, rather than based on the authority of the one making the argument. Besides the fact that all people should have at least a basic understanding of the important sciences like biology, chemistry and physics, most important is the mindset that mastering the basics provides.
The ability to evaluate presented proof and being able to evaluate it against any bias it may contain is an invaluable skill that will serve the person that masters it well throughout their whole life. The ability to recognize patterns and deduct the reasons for them are some of the most important skills a person can acquire.
The described abilities are being taught at various stages throughout the child's education as part of the other training received, but while included, these courses do not lay the emphasis on the matter in the way basic science education does. Understanding the why and how is vital for creating the mindset required for logical reasoning. Simply telling a child what is the right and the wrong way to do things does not suffice, there has to be an explanation why things work a certain way.
An introduction into basic science is required in order to enable the children to understand the reasoning behind the rules in science like proper writing, utilizing proper judgment, writing down rules and experimenting. This in turn enables the children to develop the proper mindset from which they will develop a set of abilities that will serve them well throughout their whole adult lives.
